I met a gentleman today. He introduced himself as a expert who gives training in the `Art of `Listen'. I found this meeting as providential as I am also exploring the same. I told him I was interested to know in depth about it. He said that the curse of the modern era was that people did not have time to listen to others. He blamed the parents for not listening to their children. He said that the parents did not have time to listen to their children. On the contrary, they bombard their children with pieces of advice. They also try to `enlighten' their children with the hardships they under go in the process of growing them up. But, instead , if the parents find time to listen to their children and their problems, to share their burdens, solve their problems and clarify the children , in turn get their doubts clarified, feel satisfied and naturally they would improve their personality and most importantly, love their parents.
I loved Most of his points on the importance of listening. But as he did not stop talking I found that the listening expert never lend ear to what I wanted to say but carried on his talk on listening, non stop!!
